As I mentioned before I had to do a demo on big juniper a week ago.
Pretty fun demo bit short on time though because the tree was rather big. I did have someone to help me wire it however in between the demo I had to discuss trees of the members too and that took a lot of time too.
So this Juniper came from a garden more than 15 years ago.
Only repotted once into the current pot.
It was never styled only cut back a lot to get the foliage closer to the trunk. The heavy pruning caused the tree to push out juvenile foliage....
First picture is when they had heavily pruned it about 1,5 years ago and my friend got it.
After that it pushed out a lot of leggy growth but more than enough foliage to work with.
I cleaned the true a bit and turned and twisted the tree all ways to see the options.
One day before the demo I saw this final option so the trunk had the most movement. It also shows the deadwood and livevein the best way.
On top is a Jin I am not really sure if i cut it or leave it in the future, but for now the plan is repotting next summer and let it grow out the juvenile foliage in time.
About 1,5 years ago after heavy pruning:
Demo time:
Today in the garden I was checking if all went well.
