Deformed flower on my rabbit's foot acacia. Has anyone seen this?

Has anyone seen this weird deformed growth on an acacia? It’s coming from where the flower usually starts. The tree is healthy and is flowering a lot right now. I’ve just never seen this before.

That is a seed pod.

Awesome. That’s what I suspected but I googled it and couldn’t find any pictures of a seed pod. Thanks for your help! Have you had any luck propagating these things from seed?

I thought I took some pictures but can't find them. They look pretty cool when they start to brown.

I tried to start some seeds the same way I did for Sweet acacia, wait until the pods are brown and the seeds rattle a little. But either they would be green still or almost turn to dust, never got any to germinate.
