Hi guys, found this on the deadwood of my juniper. The brown/copper-looking dots on the wet deadwood. Don't know what this is. Is it a borer? Seemed to appear overnight after a hot humid day. I picked it off with my fingers with no problem. Sprayed with some insecticide. Does anyone know what this is? Thanks a million guys.

That's fungus or mold not insects. Happens with wet deadwood.

So....standard fungicide or Lime Sulfur. Thanks.

I'd use a wire brush. Dry the wood out and then apply LS.

The orange is the fruits of whatever wood rotting fungus is inside the dead wood.
LS will kill the outer parts but may not penetrate far enough to kill the entire fungus. More regular LS treatment will help extend the life of the dead wood.
Many of the garden fungicides are designed to kill exposed fungi like moulds. They may not penetrate deep into the wood.
