Just wired out my corkscrew Willow and wanted to share. Also, since the time that the wire can stay on is so short I figured I'd capture the moment. Picked it up in spring of 2021 and took some of the thicker upper branches off and put it in a training bowl. It's got quite a few larger cut sites to clean up but that will need to wait until I upgrade some of my carving tools. Next spring I plan on repotting it and sorting out those.large.roots at the base.

This has been a source of countless cuttings but this one is the one I'm most pleased with. It's my homage to Pando. Basically I just took an extremely long cutting and spiraled it around in this one of a kind container (ie birdbath with holes drilled out). Other than cutting back height I've done very little other than let it grow. It like the other above will almost certainly be in need of a repot next spring.

Corkscrews are my favorite! They can endure tons of work, abuse and neglect. Just add water and they come back to life. I had to repot one 3 times last year due to large tree small pot and a ridiculous amount of root growth. Tons of fun.
