Collected crape myrtle

I have no idea if this is anything more than standard-grade, garden-variety crape myrtle. I think you can see why I collected it; never seen an aerial root with one of these before. (The second pic is just for a sense of scale).

I don't think I've ever seen one with an aerial root either. The root is interesting, but honestly I think it detracts from the overall image in its current state. If you can get it to thicken, then it just might add to the image. Keep us posted.
 
Any updates

How is the tree growing I have one about the same size. Would love to see some updates if you have any
 
It's doing fine. It's gone back to sleep now for the winter.
 
JKL, There are dwarf varieties of crepe, or crape. Chickasaw is one of them. I don't think you would have to graft or anything. Standard crape myrtle have smallish leaves anyways. The dwarf variety have leaves similar to boxwood in size.
 
Why would I want to graft. I have half a dozen crape myrtle. Been working on them for years.
