Amazing what added layer of snow does to help regulate temperature in cold frame. Last winter was my first winter and never got any real snow to add and only had visual temperature sensor vs tracking it this year.

You can see at red mark where layer of snow was added to cold frame which also has a layer of mulch. Even when temps got into 19-22 degrees still remained right around the 31 degrees. I will Make sure to add snow whenever it’s available.

Interesting device you are using. What is that if I can ask? I have two enclosed areas where I winter store trees and they have a wireless monitor in them that measures air temp and humidity shown on the mother board inside the house. Your system looks way fancier than mine. The high humidity in your would concern me if mine was that high. No problems with fungus etc come spring?

Here is picture and link. They have a gateway you can use as well but just connects to my phone and must take data every minute or some interval. I was out of town for few days and still kept data on device which updated to my phone when it was within range again. I could not see temps when away from device without the gateway.

I started using these last year. Its the only economical temperature sensor I've found to be able to hold up to being outside 24/7/365.
Very easy to use and pair with my cell phone. I now have 3 sensors. One outside on my deck hanging under the top shelf of one of my benches, my cold frame and in my attic.
I highly recommend these over the cheaper base station/remote sensors setups
