I have a Chinese Elm about 60cm.It has just lost 2/3 of its leaves over a period of little more than 48 hours. it is indoors in full sunlight and is is watered every 3=4 days. It has been in the same place for 5 months since I bought it all my other indoor trees are fine.
Does anyone have any ideas why it might have done this. Have I killed it.
I turned it through 180 degrees recently - could that have done it?

Post a photo - they lose the old leaves at this time of year.

+1 for photos so we can see whet else may be going on but my first thought is the same. Chinese elms are semi-deciduous meaning in warm places (indoors) the old leaves do not drop in autumn but the leaves are still only good for 1 year. They stay on the tree until new shoots start in spring then the old leaves do the fall thing to make way for the new ones.
