I bought this recently, labeled as Zelkova by the seller on a hand-written tag. I had previously assumed that it was actually Ulmus parvifolia, but with the new, larger growth, I doubt myself.

What do I actually have here? Ulmus or Zelkova? Old growth on the left, recent, new growth on the right:

Based on leaf structure it appears to be Japanese Zelkova, Zelkova Serrata which is a member of the Elm Family. There are a number of cultivars and the leaf size can vary quite a bit. Typically they can be readily reduced in leaf size and can also have beautiful fall colours.
