Hello, I came across a lady in the Mountains here, literally in the sticks
anywho the reason for the meet up was cause she was selling A TON of pots.
I pull up to this desolate home with a few beautiful Japanese Maples, Mugo Pines and a few Elms on the side of the house, we meet and greet, get to talking and she brings me to her shed and when I walked in I was in awe... The shed was littered with pots ranging with pots from the size of my pinky to massive yamadori pots in which she collected in.
I asked her why she was selling all her pots and she replied " I have been practicing bonsai for 45+ years and I am getting older now and I think it's time to give it up." She told me she had over 300+ bonsai at one time but she said something happened to a MAJORITY of them since I only saw a handful outside. I noticed she had awful carpal tunnel in your hands and maybe that had to do with it also so I got to asking some questions about the pots and all the tools in the shed.
She was a super sweet lady and I felt like I was overwhelming her with question after question but she remained calm and told me everything was fine SO I got down to business and started looking and I noticed some beautiful artisticly drawn pots and some that had Chinese and some that had Japanese writing on them,. I had asked here what the writing ment and she laughed and said " probably stupid American " we both laughed and she got to telling me she has a friend over seas that traveled a bunch and she would ship pots to her all the time so for me I knew they were authentic and I had to have them especially for the price I got them for.
I had hand picked a handful and asked some more questions and I noticed my favorite item I purchased and drumroll... it was the 3 screen View attachment 161963 sand sifter I got for a BUCK...
Long story short I walked away with some gorgeous pots, a stand, and a rock what have you sifter for a whopping $30 bucks..

Here's a pic going up to her house
completely GORGEOUS...
She ended up helping me with what I purchased to my car and I HAD to ask her about her completely BEA-U-tiful Japanese maple she had posted up.
I asked her how old it was and how long she had it for and she told me she had it since she started it as a seedling 45+ years ago and I continued to tell her how beautiful it was and ended on that note saying it was a pleasure meeting her and I told her IF she EVER wanted to sell the maple can I be first in line and she looked very attached which anyone would be and said of course but maybe one day I will get that call MAYBE.
ANYWAY thank you for reading,
Tim
