So I went to visit April Grigsby today to tour her workshop and while there she helped me make a pinch pot! She did help but it was mostly me. It has issues but keep in mind this is the first time I've touched clay in like 35 years so I don't think it is half bad! I plan to use it as a kusomono pot so the imperfections won't be readily evident.

four anchor holes for wire out towards the "corners"? nice look but on principle, feet always too "big".......(says while probably couldn't do half as good).....😏

I don't think I'll need wire for kusomono.

Thanks for sharing...I can't imagine mine looking this nice. Well done! Will it be glazed or unglazed for the final look?

I opted to go unglazed. My personal preference is the unglazed look, though I will pair glazed with deciduous since you're "supposed to". lol

Sorry, missed the kusomono part. Scrolled down as I read it and than there was all that clay.....!!!

Chippers and squirrels rip these up in the garden....we gave up.:(

It's nice.

I know you want to say something @sorce ...be nice now 😋

The paragraph of vitrification begins with a word without an E!
But I'm only saying that because I can go type it in the thread looking for those things!

That's a well researched article, though I would like to see more of her pots, and of course....the finished and more Cable pots!

The pot itself was perfect for me at kusamono.

Bloody well round!

Fixed, thank you.

Appreciate the kind words. I interviewed her during my visit and used that for the article. :-) She really knows her stuff!

Her website is linked in the article, https://aprilgrigsbyceramics.com. I'm currently all sold out of her pots so I don't have any listed on my site. She's making more.

She's also making two custom pots for me so I'll post those when I get them. The plan is for me to pick up the two new ones, and my finished one, at the same time.
