A dwarf, Mail order says it all.
Doubt I'll be able to bend the trunk due to the graft from mid ways down.
If I bend it, it will be closer to the foliage.
It's in a 1 gallon can. I had a beautiful 3 gallon one that died last year. Excellent traits for bonsai with short needles and dense foliage.

Ordering stuff online for me has either been decent grafts or how the hell is this tree even alive grafts.

I was hoping to get one as nice as the 3g one that died on me last year shown below.
I think for the nursery trade, it has a very nice graft. Most decent grafts, should look better with time
between strobis, and JBP root stock. At least that's been my experience with JWP to JBP :)

it just pisses me off that this amount of work killed this tree. It was grafted to strobis.
Anyway, I had to order another, and the graft is not near as nice.

That was a really nice tree and it sucks when they up and die for no apparent reason.. I'm starting to slow down work on my pine trees until I see very good top growth for at least one season. I keep telling myself that this is a life long endeavor and one year doesn't mean much for a tree.

I have a Chief Joseph Lodgepole Pine that has been fussy for me lately. This is it's first real solid year in bonsai soil and growth has been slow and it likes to drop needles so I left it alone and we'll see what next year holds in store for it.

@Frozentreehugger Post 3 here is my 1st of this cultivar that died.
As you can see, I did limited work on this tree I got from Conifer Kingdom.
I learned nothing from it, except next time I would begin the transition
to bonsai soil and lateral pot 1st. The growth was so thick and vigour obvious
so I started up top 1st.

I forgot about this thread when I started the one yesterday “Another Catherine Elizabeth JWP”
My apologies for 2 threads same tree. Perhaps @Bonsai Nut could delete the thread I started yesterday

I bought one from them a couple of years ago. It has an excellent graft and good movement in the trunk. I put it in a trainer pot early on. A year later I did a little work on the top. So far so good. It seems healthy.

Considering Iseli nursery . Is a large commercial operation that sells to tree nurseries . There is a very good chance that . They are the original source of both of your CE JWP . FYI . Iseli told me themselves. That all there JWP cultivars are grafted to MUGO root stock. 100 percent for last 8 years . As if last year . And before that about 50 percent . Some cultivars grafted to several others if older than above

Mine are not grafted to mugo.
Conifer Kingdom uses EWP strobus.
However either are rated to zone 3.
JBP is what my JWP in my avatar is grafted to. That works for me in my zone 6.
