I was at a local nursery when I saw this, boxwood sinica. The tag said Justin Brouwers boxwood. I cant find much info on them, especially as bonsai. Has anyone heard of these? The leaves are very small, like Morris Midget or Kingsville. They had a ton of them @ $49.00. Iwas thinking about picking one up in another month or two, when they go on sale. They're in 3 gal. pots.

I found a fair bit when I Googled up 'buxus sinica bonsai' so maybe you should go look again. It's also called a Chinese boxwood, among other things. Whether it's a better choice than other kinds of boxwood I don't know. Probably depends more on your personal taste and leaf size but others will know more than I do about it's individual quirks.

It;s mainly called Korean Boxwood-- a cultivar of Japanese boxwood (buxus microphylla). Makes great bonsai material. I've had several over the years. One of the most winter hardy of the many microphylla cultivars. Hardy to Zone 4.
