Has anyone tried the A.M. Leonard version of Buddy Tape vs. Aglis Buddy Tape? I usually get my from Bonsai tonight, but it's out of stock.

Sure looks like parafilm packaged as Buddy tape! In any event would just use parafilm. Available on Amazon etc… . imho out performs either grafting or buddy tape.

cheers

Is this just another horticultural product rebranded and sold at twice the price to tempt bonsai hobbyists because its made in Japan?!!

Yes I've used the AM Leonard one for grafting. Worked fine

I've bought some grafting tape last year and it seems to be just cling film cut to size.
For the price of cling film, cut to size.
So not very special stuff.

I prefer parafilm too. Better stretching and adherence.

Avoid the plastic film, if you use it you will have to remember to remove it. If you don't it will not deteriorate and girdle the tree as it grows.

Parafilm grafting tape on the other hand will allow buds to break through it. It will also deteriorate once the sun hits it for a season and as the tree grows it will split.
