Browning leaves, Shimpaku Juniper (help?)

Hi everyone, first time posting, long time reader. The tips of my Shimpaku are turning brown. See attached images.

I’ve had this tree on a strict watering schedule for months and recently the leaves have started turning brown. These foliage tips are undamaged and I’m afraid this might be juniper tip blight.

Any thoughts or recommendations would be very helpful. This is my first shimpaku and I’m in love with it.

I would have periodic issues with blight on junipers there - seems more or less ubiquitous. Rare that it would kick up during the hot and dry season though - normally December - March.

I see some water droplets in your photo. Though I don't think it's a huge issue, if you think you have fungus, concentrate on only watering the dirt in your pots and avoid drenching the foliage.

However if you want to nuke it, here is my anti-fungal rotation:

Heritage, Clearys 3336 and Mancozeb. Apply via spray when it is dry. Rotate chems and wait 7-10 days between each application.

No. Spray one chem, wait 7-10 days, spray the second.

Usually only need to do this once per season.

Your plant is very likely to have gone through a change in water usage over "months".

So though we don't change.....they do.

Sorry for my ignorance but I have read that junipers do well when their foliage is watered, is this something I should stop doing?

If it's been ok for you no worries.

It takes the right sun and wind to dry em before fungal spores get stuck in the water.
