So when do you guys think we'll get the first "Help! The bonzai tree I got for Christmas is DIEING" thread? And what is the standard for replies? Do we wait for @Smoke and @M. Frary to go first then pile on or is it first come first served?

Just when I thought you were doing so well- come on.
You can do better than this sort of thread.
I'm much more interested in seeing some of your trees.
I also grow indoor Tropicals and enjoy Iker pots.
Let's talk more bout that

Pots I'm not using right now.

Amcoffeegirl,

Feliz Navidad,

how pots are done down here - e.g. handbuilt - Egyptian Paste cone 08 and very durable - we have in use as Bonsai pots as well.

Sadly/ also humorously, Iron Beaver is also correct, prepare for the Xmas mallsai blitz.
Good Day
Anthony

There are two types of Christmas bonsai:
(1) The "surprise" bonsai. This rarely turns out well. The gift recipient has no real understanding of bonsai, and doesn't really know how to proceed. At the core, they just aren't that "into it". Though they think a bonsai tree is an interesting novelty, that is about as far as it goes.
(2) The "I've always wanted a bonsai tree" bonsai. This one has potential. The gift giver is usually the more confused, and the gift recipient is excited. These are the diamonds in the rough - people who have a spark of interest in the hobby, but don't know where to go to become more involved. But like any spark, they can be extinguished easily with critical or cynical commentary... or can be fueled with support and guidance.

I'm sorry if this is in bad taste... I'm stuck at work trying to amuse myself.

Maybe just delete the thread @Bonsai Nut

Amcoffee,

because I like both of you folk - Iron Beaver and you. I just added the above so there would be no arguments on Christmas Eve.
The bottle was to show how a design turns into an effort. The second was the Bonsai pot.
Wishing both of you a blessed Christmas.

Iron Beaver been there, done that, safe journey home. Enjoy a bubbly on me.
Great Day
Antonio

For you two -
Have good laugh -

I'm not saying a word. It's usually too late and I hate being the bearer of bad tidings.
I'm even thinking about changing my avatar picture to a rainbow and only post nice lovey dovey responses for my New Years resolution.

Ok.....but for real.....

I think we should all just post.....

"Rainbows and lovey dovey"

A few would be funny.....but a few pages would be great....how long do you Think it would take em to know it's a setup?

Maybe @fredman everytime someone says something mean too...."Rainbows and lovey dovey!"

Like the pots Coffee.

Reverse Tapir.....you can never ever ever switch that avatar! It's soooo awesome!

Just pointing out that they are coming out of the woodwork.....
