Blue Atlas Cedar Help

I recently got this blue cedar and am just really looking for information on how to go about pruning I have some info on needle plucking it's more the full growth that's pushing out from it I am wondering how is best to prune these? Obviously this tree needs alot of development I'll post pictures of the full tree along with close ups of the areas I am enquiring about

Also any information about these that may be helpful for any matters please shoot my way thanks!

Hello and welcome to the forum. I am by no means an expert on these, but would say you have a situation with this one that will require imagination, knowledge, and persistence. There not being any branches on the one side for quite a ways is going the be a problem but after a lot of growth on the first branch up on the other side, and some serious bending of the trunk down, things might come together for you. Be aware that these trees grow at a snails pace, at least mine is. More experienced will respond shortly I'm sure.

You should add your growing zone and where you live by the way so people can give you correct info

Well, the basic technique is to bring the growth protruding out of the design, back to a good needle bundle, or to a bundle going the direction one wants to go. But a bit hit or miss on BAC

However, this tree is a bit young for this pruning, unless one has a definite direction to take the tree to.

If the goal is to create a primary structure in the fall….Would hold off on any pruning until next year when the basic design is set and you know where foliage should go.

Sorry I thought I had added the USDA I have now sorted this! Thanks for the information im planning on just letting it grow out for the next year or two and get a general idea of where to take the design!
