Birmingham, UK - Bonsai Boot Sale Sunday 23 March 2025

Thought I’d drop this here for anyone in the UK. This Sunday sees this years instalment of the bonsai boot sale. I’m not affiliated with the organiser (other than being in the same club) but thought I’d spread the word. It’s an ace event, I know this year Corin from Greenwood and David Cheshire will be there, Harry Harrington has been there every year I have, so it’s probably safe to assume he will be there again this year.

….and for anyone not from the UK, a boot sale is like a yard sale just from the back of your car trunk…

Don't think I've ever seen an actual bonsai boot sale before haha, but that sounds quite interesting. Would love to make it but I'm 2h 30+ away - did you get the chance to go to Bonsai Fest?

It is fun, it’s on the car park of the botanical gardens (which incidentally have the national bonsai collection), tends to be a lot of raw/semi-trained material and a lot of haggling! Plenty of pots/tools/soil/ferts available too.

I absolutely rue the decision not to go to bonsaifest (young family/things to do), it looked ace - definitely going next year. Bonsai Live in Telford is always a good one too.
