bald cypress
I am in zone 9 and a newbie. I have tried to research for information on bald cypress. My question is can a bald cypress be air layered, and when does it become to late to air layer any plants? I would also ask if someone can tell me how to post pictures of my plants. thanks to all.

You can airlayer a BC but why would you there are millions of them around you in Ocala and are for sale everywhere in all sizes for very cheap. Its way easier to start with a nursery tree or dig one up. Plus they grow like weeds here in FL.
You can cut any thorns off of any tree.

Thank you. However, I am new to fl. and don't know where to find nursery tree. The box stores do not carry them. Thank you for your again.

Check landscape nurseries - if you cant find em ask any landscaping guy you see in your neighborhood or at a gas station where they buy trees at for projects specifically BC. Or get with a person that lives on some water - there are prob BC's to dig.

Kingswood Nursery is a wholesale nursery in Ocala they sell a lot of stuff maybe BC.

Wigerts Bonsai - Fort Myers
Miami Tropical Bonsai - Miami
Old Florida Bonsai - Vero Beach
Dragontree Bonsai - Palm City

Forgot about them, but agreed. Dave and Linda are top tier growers. David Cutchin has been featured in Bonsai Focus, he is soon to be the head hancho as Dave and Linda are ready to retire.

IMHO cutting the thorns off spoils the look of bullhorn if you like the leaf look but can't have thorns go with divi divi tree
