I trimmed and repotted this azalea this weekend. I is a larger leafed variety, Glacier White, and I am not sure if I will keep it. I does not really want to be a small tree. What do you think?

There are so many other varieties of azalea that are much more amenable to bonsai. Unless you really like this variety and consider the struggle (to keep it in shape) to be worth it, I'd let this one live in the garden.

I have been really struggling with keeping it as a bonsai or planting it in the garden. It was probably the first azalea that i bought, years ago, back before I knew better. It has a really nice nebari. I may try it for a few more seasons and see what happens.

Thanks,

John

I think it could be a nice Bonsai if you want to spend the time on it. I would certainly keep it in pot.

It's got nice nebari, trunk and taper, I wouldn't waste that.

Turn it into a grafting project maybe? ;)
