I posted this over in the events forum but if it is ok with the BNut Boss I wanted to put a quick note in a more active forum. lol.

Willoway Nurseries, where I work, is sponsoring an Introduction to Bonsai workshop for beginners next weekend, April 7. We have a master artist from the Cleveland Bonsai Club coming out to teach the basics of design and wiring. The workshop was full but I recently lost four people. I got two more but there are still two spots open.

The cost is $45 and for that you get a 5 hour workshop and you get to keep the tree (juniper pro nana, see attachment), bonsai tools (branch cutter and shears), pot (plastic), wire, everything! I've seen similar workshops listed for $100 and many of them you have to borrow tools or buy the tree separately. Ones that include all of this are usually more like $300 but we're doing it at cost (actually a little under cost right now).

So, if anyone in the northern half of the state is interested please let me know! Or if you know anyone who might be interested please send them this flyer: https://www.dropbox.com/s/klkl1fbp35zmg21/Bonsai workshop flyer 2018.pdf?dl=0

Sell any bonsai at willoway?;)

I'll be missing this one. Bummer that I missed this opportunity to meet you. I'll be at the Meijer Garden Intro workshop this Sunday (WooHoo!). http://www.meijergardens.org/

My wife is trying to figure out what I am spending all this time trying to figure out. We're going there together. It's in Monroe Michigan. Any Nutters near there?

The workshop is technically full but I accidentally ordered too many tool sets so sure! Please shoot me an email and we’ll make it official.

Kickass!
I'll be the scruffy-looking hippie longhair next to the lady smiling tolerantly about the whole thing.

Ha! We had a cancellation this morning so we're down a person but it's all good.

So the workshop was a big success! Everyone seemed to have a good time (except the lady who stormed out after finding out junipers are outdoor plants). There were two B-nutters there, too!

Some pics...

My tree after. Went for a windswept cascade. I had a little trouble with the bends that resulted in a loose loop of wire but I'll fix it.

I picked up four other little friends after the workshop. My boss didn't want his juniper so gave it to me and then I also got an amelanchier, burning bush, and, of course, my ryusen from the other thread...

I kept some of the crossing branches because I'm not sure what's going to survive.

Leaving this one a little fluffy for now.
