Over the weekend I purchased the core of my indoor lighting setup. I bought 4 22" Sunblaster T5s. My original plan (which was 50% successful) was to install 2 lights under two shelves in some plastic shelving I already owned similar to this:

Due to poor planning on my part, some of my plants are too tall to fit on the shelves. My three possible solutions are:
1. Replace one set of the support posts with longer pieces of abs pipe (costs money + trip to the hardware store)
2. Chop back the too tall plants, all of which are pre-bonsai growing out, so they fit (set back in trunk thickening?)
3. Wire the top growth and bend it 90 degrees to fit on the shelf

The plants in question are a bougainvillea and dwarf pomegranates.

Side question: Would a white shower curtain work as a way to keep light and humidity levels inside the shelving or should I look for something heavier? Or is it unnecessary?
