Best time to trunk chop Amurs? I have several in the ground that have been chopped in the past, but one was left to grow. It is probably 7-8 foot now with a 3 inch trunk at the base. It is in full leaf.
Sometimes it depends on how old the wood is and how many other wounds there are to heal more than time of year. I think late summer is okay here but that is 6 months before frost!
