This past spring I purchase some Wisteria frutescens 'Amethyst Falls' our native wisteria. Put them in larger pots when received and gave sun, fert and water. Some alittle staking but no cutting. This past week I was surprised when the plant that really took off early surprised me with an absolutely gorgeous flower. Can't wait until next year when they are stronger and actually pre-bonsai with lots of beautiful flowers.

By the way I was more than satisfied with the service, shipping and non-grafted plants from Wayside Gardens. They have Amethyst Falls and now also a new native variety from Kentucky named Blue Moon. May just have to get a couple.

Beautiful!

May have to pick one or two up myself to grow out, is there a link to their website?

I have a trained tree in my landscape...and a sucker in training for bonsai. Bill V told me to allow the sacrifice vines to run a year then remove them. It's a good tip that I think you could benefit from. Allows for the scar to not be overly large on the trunk.
