I've had this american horbeam forest for about 9 years and it was put together with some fairly young trees at the time. This is probably my third forest but this one is deciduous, my other two are conifers. It's definitely come a long way and had 2 restyling by moving some trunks around.

I had some trunks die in the process and had some soil issues so I decided to repot them into a smaller container so that they'll grow into each other. They definitely grew into each other but a realization that I needed more trunks and also variation also emerged.

I reworked this composition with Sergio Cuan at a workshop and a large wooden box was built for it, for a new recomposition. I think in the end I must have added 6-7 more trunks to the forest composition.

I let the new composition grow without disruption for about 2 almost 3 years. I lost quite a few trunks due to suboptimal growing conditions. Suddenly, my neighbor who had large trees cover up the afternoon sun cut down all of her trees. This added about 5 additional hours of sun to my garden and that was too drastic a change for the forest and that's probably why they died off.

A nice glamore shot, this forest was pruned back with the help of Sergio and the growth has been rewired. I'll also be adding some more trunks to this forest to fill in those areas that had loss. Hoping to get those small whips in this weekend to take advantage of this spring.
