Air layering a cypress?

Hello everybody, i saw a couple post about air layering some cypress but i think the one i have is different; i have this 20+yo cypress and i would love to take a cutting and transform it into a bonsai, is it possible? What are the steps to follow?

yes cypress can airlayer or root by cutting, the older and thicker the branch more time it will need to root though
