I think the base does it. It is outstanding!

Yep, a true shohin. I'm going to show it in the BIB show in January.

There's Shari and Jin. Just not lime sulfured yet. Got a nice pot for it already.

My eye jumps right to it, probably because of how it just shoots straight out of the trunk. Not sure if it would be better or worse without it though . . .

Yeah....it seems a bit heavy and comes out of the trunk at a right angle. Does draw the eye a bit.

It's one of those things where the photo gives a different impression than the human eye.

Also...

This not styled to look like a yamadori. More in the "oak tree" style.

It's a cool tree, Adair. I like the base. Got a picture of the pot it's going in? Are you going to brush the live veins to get that cinnamon color to contrast the deadwood when you lime sulphur it?
