BC and the new sites provide a valuable resource for some and entertainment for others. I'm happy both exist and will continue to vend on and buy from both. Just a suggestion for some: a Facebook account under a pseudonym can be a very good idea. People will not know where an item is being shipped to. For the same reason, I never allow names on displays at shows in Nashville. There's a potential for "shopping" even from photos or videos of an event; let alone geo-tagging which is a whole other matter. Turn it off on your smart phones!

Bonsai theft continues to occur so be sure and cover your tracks when possible.

I do like some of the new page's ideas such as a "Seeking _______" section. A great way for vendors and buyers to connect (although a great many BC members have done a great job with referrals).

These free sites are wonderful for a number of reasons. It's excellent exposure for vendors new and old.

Wow, I just read 5 pages of replies to a thread about a new site to sell Bonsai. Why would one complain about the way another settles disputes online in public view instead of PM in a thread to announce a new site ? Would that not be better in a Private Message ? I assume its the old case of do as I say, not what I do ...

There's a sales page as well if you look back at page one theres a link. We split the sales and auction site to cut down on the clutter on both.

If you're talking about Mark we didn't mention his name another member here did. We merely responded to the question. One of the underlying ideas behind our site is all problems/questions should be dealt with privately not in front of other members. You can't let people know about something new in private can you? We were bound to be compared to classifieds at some point since many of the members there are also members on our site. I think you'll find if you go back and read our responses towards their site we are respectful of them and the path they paved. No ones trying to make anyone feel bad about their webpage. We're just telling people about our two sites, which we do believe to be the best sites to buy and sell bonsai related items on the web in the USA right now.

It's just that the reasons many said they left the other site are exactly what they are doing here. I hope it don't carry over to your new place.

Oh I see I must have misunderstood the post. Many weren't happy there which is one of the reasons we started ours. Even if you come just to watch the auction this time around I think you'll like the changes we've made and may feel like participating in the future.
