Hi, Im fairly new to bonsai and new ti the forum. This is a mint from nursery stock. Ive had it several years but it was an ugly, leggy bush. After I got the bonsai bug, I noticed the trunk and the texture of the bark and cut it way down. I only left the little branch you see here, thinking it would back bud more. I stripped the bark from the deadwood. Id like ideas and opinions about a future for it. Btw, I live in Costa Rica so things grow quickly and all year long. KIMG_20151128_164943.jpg

Yup. Welcome to Crazy!

Something tells me you will pass this stage soon.

And we will start seeing you post some of what Costa Rica really has to offer!

I'm with you!
But this..........you should make toothpaste!

Lol. I'm just kidding! I'd like to see it grow!

It was too ugly to leave all leggy and in a black plastic bag. So I decided to torture it. It looks better like this than before! I have lots of figs and other material, mostly collected but some bought. This ones about 31/2, quite small.
