Great work. I like the color of the pot. Hats off for taking pictures daring the repotting. You should think about fixing camera on tripod and make a video instead 😉👍 Cheers

Reciprocating saw vs Japanese hand saw

We both know you want to own both machines 😅 And battery powered chainsaw, small single hand makes sense, more for collecting, but in general as well. Look at the videos o Peter Chan where he prepares ground grown trees. Reciprocal saw is more useful at first, you can use wide range of blades (...

Reciprocating saw vs Japanese hand saw

Its super fast. Very convenient. Also very helpful with collecting tress. Buy one and you will never regret it.

This title is good, I'm keeping it and will use it for book when I get to writing. Thanks 😉👍 Thanks Clio. She fits the tree and my entire life.

    Birch - next move ?

I'm not birch master here by any means but I can maybe give few hints Tree will backbud easily if cut back, no problem. Seems like good recommendation is to remove excessive buds from branch bases at the connection to the trunk. Really good master is here in the video link, it's in German but...

    Experimenting with soil mix

Zeolite 4-8 mm 80%, rough peat 20 %, add Osmocote Exact 4-6M version into the mix when potting. Handful of chicken granules fertiliser on top 2 times a year. Tell mother to water every day from April till August, even if it is slightly raining, skip watering when raining cats and dogs only.

    PIGLET CHAPTER 2

Sergio, it is a fantastic tree. I like how you styled the branches in an unorthodox way, it suits the material well. I wouldn't like to carry this beast in my garden, I feel the pain in my back over the screen. I agree with the wiring of the details, you hardly could achieve good results...

    Experimenting with soil mix

First of all, I would like to kindly remind you that spring is starting too early, which means hectic times ahead. This here seems like an attempt to start a soil war. Since the late 20th century, soil wars are best started in late autumn, the beginning of winter. Traditional soil war requires...

The "So?" response to bonsai rules.

I'm pretty sure, that notion of what is considered beautiful if we speak about human beauty changes with time. Some trends come and go, but I would say what we find beautiful now and what is considered beautiful is changing relatively fast if we compare it with human history. Plastic surgeons...

    Hornbeam No.11 progression

The pot is about 105 mm from the outside, so the inside is like 80-90 mm I guess. Thanks, I'm glad you found it interesting and not too long to watch. ;)

    Hornbeam No.11 progression

Thanks for support Bobby. You are right, in one stage I wanted to sell the tree, in next stage I wanted to sell all of them, and for a while I thought I will pile them up and burn them. Then I got a dog and things made more sense since then.✊️ Thanks for your kind words, mate. Thanks, Forrest 😉👍

    Japanese Maple Propagation

With substrate I use (zeolite) > don't have to water almost never. It keeps humid enough to sustain cuttings. I also rarely open the boxes, if so just for short periods of time. Works well. Im using it for Shin-Deshojo, Arakawa, Katsura and couple other cultivars. For example, Arakawa cuttings...
