For reference in future wiring….avoid overlapping wire and apply the wire at more of an angle (45 degrees I believe….less like a spring).

Fabulous work on the Lilac! Mighty fine indeed. I think I’d be an oddball and reach for a pot of contrasting color. My first impression was a yellow or orange pot. The contrast with the flowers would be mighty fine. However…I really do like the pot shown in this photo you posted. It can work...

If, when, I get leaf galls, I remove the leases affected immediately and dispose of the leaves in the trash. The gall is a protective Wrap produced to protect the eggs. I don’t take chances…I remove the leaves. The Elm trees always grows back with a new leaf or branch where the removal happened...

The tree seems to back-bud really well giving lots of ongoing choices and opportunities.

Well done! These maples are always fascinating to watch and witness their opening and spring development. My preference is to keep roots well covered for best growth.

No update. The tree must have landed on the scrappy tree shelf….or just scrapped. I hope that your cuttings take well. I have seen these trees display interesting varied multi-color leaves in the autumn.

The tree can handle Michigan okay. It’s good outdoors weather right now. Mid 30s-40s night and mid 50s-60s daytime. Inside the tree is doomed for failure.
