    Needles are leaves not apical meristems. All leaves have all their cells in place in the buds. Cells expand to full size by being filled with water, giving a fully expanded leaf. Elroy

    A leaf is defined by having a bud in it's axil as opposed to leaflets which do not have axillary buds. Adventious means unexpected or accidental and describes buds not arising from an axil or terminal bud. Elroy

    Check Out T5 High Output Fixtures!

    The research station I work at has replaced all the VHO T8 fixtures with HO T5 light canopies in the walkin growth rooms and growth cabinets. Apparently about 40% more PAR on a wattage basis. Less heat to worry about too. Elroy
