Here in Canada the Pacific Dogwoods have started Fall 2017 and the Maples are following quickly. The oaks will chip in later. I will, post the fall colors of my profile pic Maples sometime next week.
It is so beautiful. Congratulations on the happy news of a baby on the way and good luck for the auction. This one is a stunning specimen and should fetch a great price.
In one of the videos of Nigel Saunders he shows a he made from an old baking tray ( metal) and to which he attaches claw feet. Looks great. I guess if one shows ones trees at Bonsai shows than the perfect pot is desirable. For us lesser mortals less expensive, DIY pots will always be attractive.
Am so glad to read this. I have seen some videos on Bonsai making from less affluent countries where people have used simple things from around the house or designed their own tools and their work is as good as anyone with a garage load of 'bonsai equipment'.
This Maple just grew from seed in the garden and I kept it but its got this white mess on it now. What diseaseis this? Is there any cure? This Maple is NOT a bonsai.
Thanks for the detailed explanation.Drilling on pause then? Maybe not. I think I am going to try a few succulents instead of bonsai trees in glazed pots.
Hello everyone,( from Canada, BC).
I know one can drill holes in just about any ceramic dish/bowl but does the fact that the inside of these are glazed make a difference? Do plants grow happily and safely in internally glazed pots?
