There is a persimmon tree about 2inches thick I was thinking of fortune down to bonsai But before I cut it down I would like to know if they are easy to bonsai and care for Thanks

I went and dug up this mulberry today and I was wondering if I cut the roots too short to where it will die Also sry bout my finger in some of the pics

If elms are really forgiving than I might take the top 1/3 off tomorrow after I dig up my mulberry Also trying to get my dad to part with a 1inch wide pine

OK so I may be able to get a mulberry tree with a 2inches trunk Also if I cut it down and when it does start growing won't the tiny branch to trunk ratio be kinda screwy like this oneor will it eventually even itself out?

How do I keep them short but there trunks fat

I know that will probably never look like the bonsaied one but I would like to know if I can make it short? And wider Heard somewhere that putting it in a small pot and root binding it will keep it small .Is this true?

The small elm is mine while the bonsaied one is about the trunk size and night I would like sry about the image quality

Maybe like 2 inches across Just enough to look good on a smaller elm

OK thanks all of you and as for not keeping them in side there is little room outside too My dad is a land skaper and already has a lot of pots and outdoor space taken up so I have to be careful about what I bring home Anyone know how to keel the elm around a foot tall with a thick trunk Any...

OK Source so I only covered maybe 5 acres but I live in a trailer so I can't go too big with a tree( I mean like 7in tall max for now) and no school I have spring break this week to make plans for all my trees :D

Thanks for the help I'll probably take the wire off and let it grow a year I'm glad I joined. I've learned more about bonsai in 1 day here then trying on my own for a while Would still love to see elm pics of any kind for ideas Thanks

Would it die if I cut off say 1/3 of the top so I can kinda restart or should I let it grow till next year like my cedar and go from there

My stupid tablet put my birth year as 1981 but I'm not 35 years old . . . I'm sixteen and I would like to not be older than I am I joined because I was wanting to get in to bonsai If not I guess I'll just be twice my age thanks for any input

Chinese elm don't grow naturally in Missouri tho I can take a pic of the mother tree Sry it's not a good pic . . . Bad lighting The mother tree has to be at least 40-50 feet tall
