I collected some seeds from one growing on a garden 2 weeks ago and got them in a pot. It’s winter so Let’s see if something comes out of it. The mother plant was flowering so I may come back later (late spring maybe?) to collect more seeds when temperature are warmer.

Is this your planned height for this tree. The thickness of the trunk relative to the overall height of the tree feels unbalanced to me. I feel that it needs to be taller. Just my gut feeling of course.

I don’t remember seeing P. pinea up in the mountains here. It’s a costal pine. In rarely experiences freezes, at least in Portugal.

You can use lime sulphur when trees are dormant. This is common procedure among many of us.

Nearly there. Can we enter trees in growing pots or should we only enter those that are in 'proper' bonsai pots? Also, should we consider extending the deadline for a 3-4 months to allow people to repot their trees? Not talking by myself, cause I can repot anytime in the middle of winter...

I have this for maybe 5 years. I bought it as a semidevelioed bonsai but which I cut back aggressively to the trunk for rebuilding most branches. I have a post about here in the forum. It was already fruiting when I got so I cannot answer that for you.

With conifers you wire those branches down into position to compact the tree. Often, side branches are used to develop the apex.
