    The not an Eml ID

Hey all. Do anyone know what this is? There's no tag and worker there thought it was an elm. But the "veins" on the leaves don't look consistent to any elm to me. But I might as well be wrong since I don't have any elm, yet. Ailing from chlorosis but that can be remedied easily enough I think...

Microscopic cork bark Japanese Black Pine (JBP)

Around Nov of 2019 there was an ad on Craigslist for this JBP and it was really cheap. But I knew the catch was its health though. From the pics, the needles was all yellowy and stuff. I was like, what the heck, lets try and save this thing since the bark was pretty awesome! Once I got there...

Is this some kind of Juniper?

Hello all. My sister have to redo water gutter and other stuff for better water channeling if that's what it's called. And an excuse for herself, she's getting rid of all the plants lining the front as well. She never liked them. But she will be having it done sometime in early summer...

    Please help with ID

Hi all! I'm kinda stumped as to what this might be. At first I thought it might be some sort of fruit tree but they're all alternate pattern. Then I thought it might be something like a Burning Bush but the stems have no wings and serrations are larger too. Can anyone id this?

Ginkgo! The weirdos of trees :p. Or is it deciduous broad leaf conifer? The other day I just happened to type "bonsai" on craigslist just for the hell of it. And came across an ad of a guy wanting to thin out his collection to make room for more o_O?! Among other trees, he has this Ginkgo...

AKA Brian Trident, The punching bag that could

Some of might remember this stump I purchased from Brian, AKA Adam:p, last year. Most of you won't. When I got it earlier this year, my excitement got the better of my rational judgment. Went ahead with total bareroot and chopped the bottom flat . I should have waited till next year for...

    Backyardori Goji, First attempt!

Feb. was a really mild month this year, so I thought what the heck, let's get at them gojis in the yard. It was the spur of the moment thing even thought I knew I should have waited. Buds were popping and about to leaf out so I went ahead and grabbed the trusty spade and my bare two hands. This...

Was walking the "urban jungle" last week and came across some bushes with some interesting trunks and leaves looks to be evergreen? Or maybe it's breaking dormancy? From looking at the outside, it appears the owner was trying to eradicate the entire lot! I think there's a good chance I can...

How would you care for this weak Hinoki?

Hey nutters! I bought this pretty sad Hinoki from a soon-to-retire landscaper for $25. It looks really weak and most of the lower branches already died off. He neglected it for like 3-4 months. The pot was bone try. Brought it home and gave it a good watering. Now I've read that Hinoki (Cypress...

    Hazel Alder anyone?

After the big (to me) purchase of the Trident from Mr. Stickman himself, I thought I was done since the growing season is drawing to an end. Then I came across a nursery, not so local, from me. And they grow and sell only plants native to the east coast, for sustaining the local wildlife. Figure...

New from Lowes's, Vitex (Chaste Tree)

So I was running some errands and was waiting for my boss at Lowe's and had time to snoop around for discounts. Stumble on this tree/bush and thought the trunk and nebary to be pretty decent to start something. After reading up a bit on it at work. Found them to be quite hardy and can withstand...

Something wrong with one of my wisteria?

Hello fellow nut-head. I bought two, yes two wisteria from Homie De a month ago and I noticed one has a reddish type color on new growth. The other one is plain light green. I did not fertilize it. Just plain ole water, both watered same time and placed at same place in the yard. I would assume...

1 and 1/2 Acer Griseum starter tree

First let me apologize for the large and crappy pics. I don't know how to post thumbnails that enlarge when selected :( Went to a local nursery to pick up this paperbark maple today and the nursery dude threw in a seedling as well to sweeten the deal. The tree itself isn't in the best of shape...

Crape Myrtle from Florida to Philly?

Hi all. I got a Crape Myrtle stump from Florida earlier this year. When I first got it in late Feb. I planted it in dirt for about 1 month but the tiny red buds didn't move at all.
