    2019 From seed

All the maple seeds were crap.. I'm going to stop buying from eBay and go with a good source next year. The KHs and JBPs are doing well. I trimmed the roots back on the KHs and planted them in their own 4" pots this evening and will leave them be the rest of the year. I'll update with the JBPs...

    Persistent Spider Mites

Thanks for your comment. I will make sure and pick up something specifically for mites tomorrow. I did realize that I needed to use a miticide, I just assumed these products had the right additives since they were on the label. and I have not considered the possibility of killing off beneficial...

    Persistent Spider Mites

Hey folks. I am having a hard time getting rid of spider mites on my Korean Hornbeam. They have slowed it down quite a bit and it hasn't leafed out and I'm starting to get concerned about it. I have used 2 applications of Bayer 3 in 1 and I have used 2 applications of Bonide Fruit and...

    Music Stuff

Our jam space is being finished (upper level of my 3 car garage) so all of our stuff is shuffled around, but this is a screenshot of a YouTube video I have of us jamming. Back at it again on Sunday! We play stoner/doom metal.

    My story with Ticks: TBE

Geez!! As an avid camper and hiker myself, this gave me chills. I can't tell you how many times I have plucked ticks off of me without a second thought about it. I can't imagine how scary that was for you. I am glad you are on the mend. Stories like this just give me that reminder that while...

    Best time to water

I have always watered in the evening when I get home from work or when I am outside working on whatever project is at the top of my list. Usually around 6 PM. I might try watering earlier after reading all the comments just to see if it has an effect.

    Korean Hornbeam 1

Hey folks. Another quick update from me. I can barely remember what all that mess up there even is. I do recall the roots being terrible and then feeling like an absolute fool for paying what I did. But you live and learn. Anyway, this remaining tree is all I have left of that shoddy group. I...

    Collected EWP

Ahhhhhh..well thank you for the translation. My friend has quite a bit of land that covers part of a ridge line and the surrounding slopes. We we're just making a day of it and I wanted to check out the rock walls to see what kind of cool stuff was growing on them. I was pleasantly surprised.

    8 years smoke free today

Thanks for all the support folks. I really appreciate it! I still feel really good about it this evening. When I came home from work I just assumed my wife had quit as well after we talked about it last night. When I saw a pack on the bathroom counter, ohhhh I was tempted. Haha. I just asked...

    8 years smoke free today

You know what, I needed to read this today. Thanks for posting. I am currently on DAY 1 (o_O) after trying about 100 times like you mentioned. I have been good at quitting before and have quit for up to 6 months at a time. But I'm always WAY better at starting back. My oldest son was talking...

    Choice of two pots

Between the 2, I prefer the first one. Something about the rounded edges looks more appealing with that movement to me than the hard angles on the second pot. Which one are you leaning towards?

    Aeroponic Cloning

How much did it cost to set that up? I had been looking into making something similar but using a 5 gal bucket with a lid. I was going to use a hole saw to cut everything out, get the baskets and cubes, etc. and try to just redneck engineer something like that.
