    Name that tree

These are a couple trees I collected back in 2006. I was told they were eastern ceders but after thinking about I am starting to have doubts. They foliage looks just like that of Juniperus virginiana L. What do you all think it may be. Better pics to come. A Friend in bonsai John

    Where to take it?

This is a juniper (gold coast) that I removed from the neighbors yard (2003) before he had cut all the top off. I worked on the carving winter of 2005 http://www.bonsaichat.org/forums/show-tell/2197-remember-one.html. Worked on it this year to get the foliage closer to the trunk. I am...

    Next Generation

This is my next to the youngest grandchild, three years old. Out of the four she seems to be the only one that is very interested in what grampa does in the backyard. She likes to help water and just hang out when I am in my little world. So this weekend I asked her if she wanted to help papa...

This is another stump that I have been demising for the last four years or so. It is close to being somewhat a nice tree. Bonsai? I don't know but it will make a nice tree in my backyard. I was going to approach graft it to better the nebari but decided not to. Could cause more problems then...

    Stumped potensai or not? ;)

This is another trident stump that is ready for my demise. All in all it is a fairly decent stump with not to many scars except the one half way up the trunk. It has healed over well but healing left a bit of an inverse. But I will look past this for now. I would like to see what all you bonsai...

    Juniper chinensis Blaws

Ok I am posting this juniper that I started working on in 2004. It was sorta of a mess potted way to high exposing and killing alot of the surface roots. I had to pot it into a deeper pot to try and get more surface roots so I can get it into a much shallower pot when it is ready. The first pic...

    off road Junipers

Here are 3 junipers that I collected off the side of the road, leterally! They were destine for the dump! I knew they were not there the day before so they couldn't of been out of the ground for long? So I had to stop and pick them up before the trash man did. I pruned everything off and only...
