Here are some pics of my mame or shito ficus. I was originally a cutting that I saw some potential in. I really like small bonsai.

First bonsai pot!

Pruned back to short internodes for movement and taper
Tree is 3" tall from lip of pot.
I also rotated the tree to try a new front for this photo.

It's a small leaf Benjamina. I think it's the one that is commonly called Ficus Philippinensis but I'm actually not sure.

Here's a photo of the leaves on two of them. The left one is this one with reduction and the right is one that I am trying to thicken the trunk on for a curvy shohin without reduction.

Maybe I'll throw in a full size Benjamina leaf for comparison. It's about the size of the entire shito. :)

New update! Didn't mean to have a new post so soon but I really liked the photo and the progress that we see in this tree in such a short time. Guess it really likes the lights!

Yes, I've been cutting the larger leaves in half to reduce energy. I'll look into a more thorough defoliation (but not too thorough ;)) in the middle of the big growing season.
