I've recently become motivated to pick up hiking again. Went on a solo day hike yesterday and had a lot of fun! I'd be interested in seeing what trails you guys are tackling in other parts of the country or world.

The pictures are from the San Gabriel Mountains.

This is aso san a few months back, shortly after the big earthquake last year the vulcano had a small eruption, you can see the debris surounding it, i was planning to hike the mountains you see in the back but it was still not allowed to go visit the crater and its partly the same road so couldnt go...

Can only go for a walk here.

I believe a hike is only a hike when it can kill you. (nature...not...um...humans)

A hike....

That's crazy!! I want to do the PCT one day. When I was in scouting my scoutmaster did it in 5-6 months.

From what I hear most of the PCT hikers are either retirees or college graduates. In short people who have less responsibility or haven't taken any yet. Seems really hard to find a 6 month gap in your life. I've been thinking maybe I'll hike the PCT after I graduate. We'll see.

I love hiking! Where I am living now, I have 5 spots under an hour and half from my house. Even though the mountains aren't as big as when I lived in the Rockies, they are beautiful! Harsh weather provides me with lower elevation krummholtz zones, beauty trees!

Had a beauty outing last weekend, headed to do a 3 peak circuit. Picked up two hitch hikers, girl from France and a dude from Israel. They are WWOOFing on a local goat farm, so I played tour guide through the mountains. Life's good!
