By the way...I found out that whole light strip in the last pic was all dead under.
So a new deadwood that goes up and connects the top one...

I'll pic soon.

I found a couple little pinholes in the bark awhile back...and some bugs Meath this dead bark....but it's still growing....so I'm not gonna nuke it yet.

Thanks Sawgrass!

I never meant to insult you.
I just feel no matter what I say it insults you!

Love you man!
I'm not gonna be a dick anymore....I'll just keep trying to understand how you tick!

Thanks for the info!
I already read it twice!
And I see (I believe) what you mean, as in, I wandered in my head passed all your trees again...and I think I'm seeing what you're seeing!

This Premna I have been working on which I need to update a photo of, seeing it is quite further along than this now... Was a tree I established in such a way as what I suggested I would do with your tree.

It had a straight trunk, that I did a chop on... I tilted the tree to the left and used branching on the right to make the continuation of the trunk and was then able to bring the apex to a forward direction.

Cool, I have killed all mine so far except one small one I got this past Spring. Seems I have to go slower on them like Junipers but at different times. I am getting 25 - 26 small ones next year early Spring and making a miniature potted formal English Garden border of them but that is just hedging and reducing pot size. Interesting yours seems to take abuse good!

Flower buds.

@Brian Van Fleet this is the RCesque leaner I needed that info for.

With @sawgrass help too, I'm going for a hurricane surviver.

Florida Shout! Thanks Guys!

And this thing grows like it's in Florida too!

Crazy I've carved about 50% of the hardwood out of this.
And it has about 70% more foliage than it had!

:)

This is WHY I LOVE this game!

Some dumped free crap.
Gone from healthy to dead in design.
(Broom to Hurricane ravaged)
Dead to Healthy for real.

And it's actually progressing so far beyond what I ever expected!
Like box ain't slow!

I'm already working this to its first set of keeper branches this year.

If I slowly downsize the sacrifice top and excess roots equally the next 3 years, while designing the keeper section, this may be ready for a Shohin rack.

One down.

4 or 5 to go!

4 or 5 thousand!:p

Well...

This grew well early, paused, and since, every bit of new growth has dried and fell off.

Had an hunch to dunk it a while back...
And I should have.
About half the pot was bone dry.
And an inch all the way around.
It been shedding water for a while.

20170623_155310.jpg

I got it into a half basket with some plenty of roots still all around, and many white growing tips.

I wanted to get it reduced down.
It should regain health now that it is free of clay and nursery icky.

@armetisius I understand this "root ball relaxing " now.

It was quite evident here.
Most of the clay flushed out, and what was a solid brick, became more aldente spaghetti.

I should have repotted last summer.

One year in a colander seems enough to loosen it up.

@GrimLore

2 weeks after repotting this....today..20170710_090225.jpg

It showed signs of new buds.
20170710_090240.jpg

So I took advantage of it's want to grow.....
And "redirected energy" aka cut it to "proper nexts"...
