Thanks to @StoneCloud ......

I went out into the yard yesterday around noon...
And kept going till just before dark.

20170320_082732.jpg
Got my garage rain barrel hooked up, fittin to plant some food directly into that open compost pile.

Still have to move the firewood and remove some more blocks....

Depending on how collecting season pans out, this new area may be trees, elms, buckthorn, hackberry, hops Hornbeam, and J.Crack...or vines, pumpkins, cucumbers, zucchini...

Removed just enough blocks to get this setup now...20170320_083011.jpg
And in just enough time to be almost at capacity after last night's rain!
The overflow is ran over an old dead branch in the cypress....which is getting layered for a literate this year....for better or worse!

These here bricks may end up a kiln....
Old pavers....research time. This area was already jacked up...
20170320_082912.jpg

So I made some stepping stones for muddy mornings...20170320_082933.jpg

And prettied up a stump that I still feel bad for letting Leo trip on last year....
Made it more noticeable.
20170320_082944.jpg
Friggin love moss!

Thanks again @StoneCloud !

And this is what I have done so far. See my rickety ass bench on the right there? Your creation @sorce has inspired me to tear mine down next week and start from scratch!

The picnic table I had and just moved from another part of the yard. The stones were free from CL and still waiting to find more to finish this all the way to the fence. I relocated the bench next to the shed after taking some crap out of that section and chopping that Hibiscus down a lot.

You know I do think about that! I pull the branches off myself from there when they are too yellow so they don't fall. And during hurricane season don't really leave stuff under it.

I was thinking of putting in a screen. Gonna need it this summer too, the sun is so intense and days are so long.

Maybe consider a pergola, which would offer protection from those fronds, and some shading?

@CWTurner That is a good idea. I'm gonna have to do something quick b/c the sun here is so intense in the summer. It's perfect now but getting a little too intense already on new growth on some plants.

Just scooped these up 2 hours ago. Free on CL. Total of 73 or so. I'm thinking of making columns for benches. Been waiting a while to get them going Whether it's life, work, kids etc..... but It's slowly getting done!

Had to take two trips though. First load I took enough to almost bottom out the truck hahah. Sucked that I couldn't get it all in one trip, but they were free!20170325_141755.jpg 20170325_140741.jpg

Oops...wrong pic...but hey! Flowers!

20170326_124002.jpg
Still digging these up. Making a rock garden out of the mortar and other excess shit in the yard. Top right.

If you can't beat em....
If life gives you lemons....

20170326_123942.jpg
My rain barrel overflow starts top left so I made an irrigation ditch for this new Veg spot. Roma VF. Peppers. Beets...Damn! Mad beets! I never knew I loved beets till last year! Roasted.

Anti dog pee Stonehenge wall of pavers, need to block the other side.

20170326_123957.jpg

Another bed with anti dog pee surroundings. I think the centipedes will help keep my pests down.
Wal-Mart bLue rugs.

20170326_124019.jpg

Cedar mulched the dogs hang out spot for anti flea properties.
I'm gonna grow cucumbers passed the barrel and up those trees on the fence above pee zone.
That "step" to my composter is more lemonade. An old bag of concrete left by previous to wet and solidify.
Now its easier to pee in the composter!
Speaking of lemonade!

Somehow I went from no veg garden, to mega veg garden in about a week!

Now I have a goal to have a garden only diet!

Coming soon....
The front yard....
3 Big stumps turned 3 fairy houses...
And flowers...many many flowers!

Oh...it's because I've grabbed or otherwise eliminated all the trees I have wanted to collect, and I still have space for some of mine I'm grounding..

And my collects are looking good!

To Veg!

Hey Sorce, how many trees do you have? Is your bonsai spot west, east, N or S facing? Last question, what is "J. Crack" I'm not up on the lingo.

Just curious

What was 45 a month ago, is now 60.

The lower shelf is to the north, rocks and lawn south.

House west. Garage east.

The south end of the lawn is all shade from the south neighbor trees.
It's pretty nice.

I whacked the Apple trees back again to have a bit more sun.

This year I'm trying to place plants in more conducive locations.
Boxwoods in the shade..
I'll part shade my Hops Beamer.
Or oyster Vag.

J.Crack is ERC.
