I only have phal's which are the easiest of all orchids to keep. @Leo in N E Illinois is the orchid expert here.
Not sure what a Phal is so you know more than I. I'll have to read up when Leo drops his knowledge. He's good. :)

Cleaned out the flower bed a little today since it was nice, and lots of hope popping already.

Spanish lavender seems alright despite being slightly out of its zone.

I need to figure out what the trick is to get the whole tree blooming at once. It’s always a little bit at a time.

Pretty simple. It involves taking off the strongest buds before they bloom…

For all the work of growing, pruning, shaping, jinning, and other machinations that normally go into a bonsai, there's something refreshingly simple about buying a nice cutting, sticking it in a pot, and just having it work. Flowering species seem best for this. Love this little guy, and it's the easiest to maintain.
