My original plan was to dig it up and make it an actually bonsai, but its a little large and I never got around to it. I thought about trying to get the little one to the left out, but the roots are probably tangled together and it would be a mess!

I hope so, but its probably around 10 to 15 years old already so id be supprised if it ever turned into a real good looking trunk! At least before I leave this job haha

I totally agree, even since I cut it off the fence its put out 1000 little sprouts all around it on the ground! They just keep popping up!

Ahh I love the pot air layer idea, that sounds much easier than wrapping it with moss and plastic. I guess we will see if I can bring myself to cut into this tree by next summer! :) Do you thing the current roots and base would have a good chance of sprouting new growth? I'd like to keep them...

I definitely agree that the branches need to be cut back and less tapered. I think that will be my main goal over the next few years. I also like the idea of air layering the knotty roots off and starting the radial root process. I think this might have to wait a while because my air layering...

Thank you both! I've been thinking about what I should do to it first. I think that some of the lower branches would look better if they were bent downward a little more than they are now. What do you think? Any other thoughts on how to improve the look?

Got this guy at walmart! I don't usually like these types because of their weird trunks but I like this one. It was in its plastic pot from Walmart standing straight up. I decided to tilt it sideways and throw a few rocks around it. Let me know what you think!
