Sorry for the stupid question, but when you say 30-40% range you mean UV protection? Or visible light? I guess I need to know what I need to look for when shopping for a shade cloth. I live in southern CA and the sun is going to be intense all the way to Nov. Thank you
Hello - anyone know what tree this is? I collected it, not doing so well :(
I thought it was this one type of tree, but I was wrong...
The new growth on the tips started to wilt once I repotted it. Now, the are starting to turn brown. The soil is acidic potting soil. It's in the shade now for...
yes, im sure it's a pepper tree. I grabbed a bunch of these seeds from a tree as you see in this picture, came home, broke the pink shell and planted it in the container you see in the first picture! A week later this popped out! :)
I planted this seed from a pepper tree that grows all around southern california. It sprouted about a month ago and it's remained this size for all this time. It's about an inch tall right now. I check the soil and water regularly. Anyone has any experience with pepper trees?
I planted the...
Tnx for the tip IIIROYIII
I'll be happy to take some of those cuttings from you if you dont know what to do with them! :p
Unfortunately I can't find and Shimpaku or good quality at least around where I live... :(
Thanks for the advice guys...

I havent tried it...
Or does it matter for each kind of juniper?
I've tried with peat moss in a baggie and even perlite now. The perlite works for another cutting I did with another tree, but not too great with the juniper.
Also what should the maximum thickness of the cutting be to propagate a juniper...
I sprayed the branches and foliage with soap water. It's def an aphid as i saw some other pics on the internet as well.
It's on the pot cause i started picking them off and i put there so i can get a good pic of it :)
And yes, I know the difference between centipedes and millipedes and these...
Tnx Rockm for that link. That's definitely what it looks like. Also we don't have any pets. I crushed them on the branches of the tree and they squish real easy. I barely have to press on it and it liquifies. I highly doubt it's a tick.
I would appreciate it if someone can tell me what these are? They're crawling all over the branches of a juniper I have. They come our mainly towards the end of the day and some foliage are actually dying. I live in Southern California if that makes any difference and it's starting to get hot...
