Pink Ladyslipper Orchids

Hiking in the spring around here is nice because in the spring, if your timing is good, you might stumble on wild orchids. This photo was taken with a camera phone, so the quality is poor, but I didn't have anything better with me. I was going light in the Spring of 2006 on a whirlwind backpack trip through the Red River Gorge in Kentucky, but I just had to stop, dig out my phone, and photograph these! They were right by the trail in a small rocky alcove, by themselves, as if planted there intentionally.
