For what its worth, I've driven 1,000 miles south and I got to Texas. I drove 1,000 miles north and I was in Canada.
The smug European bullshit I've heard more than once about lack of traveling is irksome. It's kinda big here. You get nowhere fast if your goal is to cross national borders.

I've been to a lot of places. I've been to Asia. I've been to South and Central America. I've lived in Europe. I have been all over the US - every state with the exception of Alaska.
However as accepting as I am of other peoples and cultures I draw the line at "I will kill you if you don't agree with me". I live in California with a lot of different religions, cultures, ethnicities. I don't agree with them all. But I have never harbored the thought that just because I don't agree with someone I have a "right" to kill them. That, in my opinion, is where the difference lies. I don't CARE what these people think - as long as they believe murder of innocents is justified. I don't care about their religion, their history, their grievances. As long they feel driving a car into a bunch of people on the sidewalk is acceptable - I relegate them to the human trash pile.
It is all fine and good to talk about higher morality - with other peers who share the same morality.

There is no one "correct religion" in my book.
But to me, there is definitely intelligent design involved, we are all just in the dark about the truth of what that designer is....and we will remain in the dark until we die, unfortunately....
I think that "believing" in the theory of evolution, and denouncing all religions is equally closed minded as "believing" one single religion, and calling the rest wrong.
I have had several pleasant conversations with AlainK and I don't hate anyone for their "beliefs", that's why I won't put Paradox on ignore, that's the opposite of what we should be doing....
I can operate civilly with anyone, I do it everyday in this cesspool called DC....

History of Obama's presidency tells us that he overthrew Mubarak in Egypt and placed the Muslim Brotherhood in power. Not that Mubarak was a great guy or anything but he knew how to keep the islamists in check and keep the region a little bit more stable than it is now.
So as far as terrorism goes, it's basically been spiraling out of control since then. Or it's been spiraling exactly as Obama through it since then, depending on your point of view, I suppose.
