Saw this recently. Pretty odd to me, size wise. A giant sequoia in Yosemite National Park's Mariposa Grove, CA.

The Grizzly Giant was considered the oldest and largest tree in the world, aged between 2,000 and 3,000 years. In 2019, refined scientific dating methods resulted in a new age estimate for the Grizzly Giant: 2,995 years old (plus or minus 250 years).

Height above base 63.7 m 209.0 ft
Circumference at ground 29.5 m 96.5 ft
Diameter 1.5 m above base 7.8 m 25.5 ft
Estimated bole volume 963 m³ 34,000 ft³

The limbs the on the left side are the size of normal trees.

The age of some trees always blows my mind. I've come across some in the backwoods that, despite being so remote, I'm certain have met more people than I will before I die; they're just that old.

My son was admitted to Cornell University, so we drove up for 'Cornell Day' to welcome admitted students. Of course while we were there we stopped to check out their botanical garden.

Here's a 'Yellow Trumpet Creeper', stamped on the tag is 1983. So that puts the vine at 41yrs in place. The entire time I was looking at the trunk, I was imagining how it would look in a pot.
