Couple picks of some favorites at the National Arboretum today. What a luxury to take in the cherry blossom without the ridiculous traffic or crowds.

Without further adieu...

Hmmm. Looks like Goshin needs another haircut.

Adieu, adieu, adieu . . .

The nice gentlemen in the visitors center told me they recently took all of the wires off.

A few more from the visit. The Red Pine in the common area is shockingly awesome!

I've been fortunate enough to live close to the Nat. Arboretum my whole life. Only in the last 5 years have I started visiting regularly.

erb.75 - I repeated that same sentiment about the Kiyohime to my girlfriend on a few occasions. Root over rock, impressive canopy, strong trunks. Really can't get enough of that one.

Good call going this weekend, it is really nice to be there when its not crowded. I went by myself on a cooler day a few weeks ago and had a few moments to myself in the main pavilion. Hope you enjoyed yourself.

Thanks. I still have my (real) pictures from a visit in the 80's or maybe earlier. They are special to me as these will be to you.

You need to go back and post some comparison shots! I'll even pay the entrance fee for you ;)

I went Saturday and you could almost not find anywhere to park. Cars were everywhere, pedestrians were even more abundant. The blooming trees and flowers were in their glory. I went to get some kanuma that was being sold off, but got there as the last 4 bags of small & medium were sold. Still a full pallet of HUGE grain, but it was worth the trip to get my wife out for a few hours. I just wish the small crowds were apparent then. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom and everyone and their brother were out to see them. The roads were packed.
