Hi everyone,

Thought I'd share my latest purchase with my Nut Family. I call this little guy "The Little Tree That Could" because of its survival on its way to me.

I purchased this tree on the 18th of January. It shipped on the 20th via USPS 2-Day Priority. It didn't show up until the 26th, 6 days of being in cold weather. It was packed with a 72 hour heat pack, however, that week we had lots and lots of snowfall that had me worried sick. The tree arrived on the 26th and I unboxed it to see absolutely zero damage to the tree at all. The seller on ebay (shohinbonsaiguy) refunded my money a few days before I received the tree because he was afraid it was going to arrive dead. Happy tree = happy me!

4 inch tall tree.
2.25 inch base.

Pretty sure it's dead, so I'll take it off your hand since where close.

You may be right. Let me do a scratch test and get back to you.

I'm a broke college student so the fact that he refunded me is a huge blessing. I told him I wanted to pay him since the tree was fine but he refused :p

I'm glad you offered repayment. That says a lot about your character. Tree looks amazing by the way!

I expect by now it's starting to bud out again. We'd love to see an update Ryan.

It was just acclimating to a new environment and got fussy. It's pushing new leaves today.

This is fully leafed out, or the before photo?

Well, I should use the term "fully leafed out" loosely. What I mean is the branches are all in leaf, there aren't any major branches that don't have leaves. I don't have to hold my breath waiting for growth, that is.

Probably should use the term "fully leafed out" less loosely...
Good that all the branches are budding; it has a nice base. Now, it would be wise to let it actually fully leaf out!
I inherited a nerifolia last year (ugh). I'd say this is fully leafed out.

Ugh? Sounds like you're not a fan! I'm always just a shipment away ;)

I'm not anti-ficus, just not a fan of keeping anything that can't fend for itself outside.
I'd send it to you if I could, but this was given to me by a cousin on my wife's side, whose husband grew it for 50 years in a bonsai pot before he died. Incidentally, it was originally from NOLA, but spent the last 8-9 years up your way in VA.
It used to be a whole lot taller too, before I got ahold of it:eek:...

After getting knocked out of its pot by a clumsy father, this guy had to be repotted a month or two ago. Getting ready to move it into full sun shortly.
